Investigate the bridge before the academy visit
To complete Drawbridge Defect, question the bridge witnesses, investigate with Kevin’s grail coin and pursue the monster to Gull Seaside Way. Defeat Jabbabba King and four Red Shumocks to finish the quest.
Choose “Human Intervention,” the second dialogue option, when asked what caused the malfunction to earn +1 BP. Complete the quest before visiting Jenis Royal Academy, since that visit ends the opportunity.
Accept the quest after Olivier joins
This remake quest becomes available after Olivier joins your party during The ‘White Shadow’ 2. Accept Drawbridge Defect from the Bracer Guild board, then speak to Chief Portos at Aqua Rossa Bar about the malfunctioning city bridge.
The quest has a Short timeframe and expires after visiting Jenis Royal Academy. Its reward is 1,000 Mira and 2 BP, with 1 additional BP available from the investigation answer.
Follow the witnesses and Kevin’s dowsing trail
- Follow the quest markers around the bridge and question everyone about unusual activity.
- After questioning everyone, answer “Human Intervention,” the second option, when asked what went wrong with the bridge. This earns the extra BP.
- Kevin briefly joins to investigate with his grail coin. Dowse near the chain on the left side of the bridge near the east side of town, then examine what you discover.
- The investigation takes you to the manual bridge-control contraption in the mayor’s house. A monster flees to Gull Seaside Way, and Kevin leaves your party to chase it.
- Pursue the monster to Gull Seaside Way. Kevin rejoins for a battle against Jabbabba King and four Red Shumocks. Use his party buffs, such as Sacrifice Arrow and Grail Sphere, to help in the fight, and defeat all five enemies to clear the quest.
